September 6 - Council Vote
 It's time to nominate students for our Youth Leadership Council! Start thinking about who has the heart, character, and leadership qualities to help lead our youth group.  
October 31 - Serve at Trunk or Treat
This is a wonderful opportunity for our youth to serve and encourage kids to come to church and get involved in Kids Ministry!
There are many ways for our youth to help, including decorating, serving food, crafts, face painting, running game stations, and cleanup, just to name a few. Whether you enjoy being creative, working with kids, or simply lending a helping hand, there’s a place for you! Come be part of this fun evening as we serve others, build relationships, and show God’s love to the families in our community!
November - OCC Shoebox Packing
This year, we have 180 OCC shoeboxes to pack and ship before Thanksgiving! Each box is a small but meaningful way to show a child that they are loved and remembered. Most importantly, these shoeboxes open the door for children to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Through them, children have the opportunity to learn about God’s love and in turn, share the Gospel with their families.

Shayne's Story

I enjoy the youth group because it gives me a home away from home. I don’t have many friends at school or outside of church/youth group. So each week when youth group occurs, I get so thrilled and excited to spend time with my closest friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Everyone is included and welcome.  It’s such a fun time! It also encourages your walk with God and that’s what I love the most about the youth group and being the Vice President. Everyone seems to enjoy it and that’s what my goal is, to enjoy and love one another and our peers.

Sydney's Story

Youth Group is a place where I can be myself and learn about the Lord of all lords. At the end of my pretty busy week, my youth group is where I can relax and hang out with my homies.

Youth Group is all about helping to build the Next-Generation of disciples who will bring Jesus to our world. We want to partner with parents and families in accomplishing this mission.

Get Involved

Sunday Morning

Youth serve in several areas on Sunday morning. We have opportunities in:

  • Kids Ministry
  • Tech Team (we will train!)
  • Worship Team 
    • Anyone can join our youth band practice Sundays before youth group from 3:30-4:30pm.
    • If youth can sing/play at a higher level, they are welcome to audition and join our adult worship team that plays for Sunday services.

Youth Council

Each year we vote in 4 youth who play an important role in leading our youth ministry. These youth help make decisions about games we play, events, service projects, and the general direction of the youth ministry.

Parents

We have an an open invitation toward parental involvement in Youth Group. We want to cultivate a culture where parents are involved in their child's development of their faith. Parent involvement helps youth reach their full potential in who God made them to be. God has given you each a unique role in your child's lives, and we want to partner with you on this journey. Parents are welcome to:
  • Become leaders at youth group (background check is required).
  • Assist with dinner preparations.
  • Help plan or chaperone events.

Small Groups

These Small Groups meet outside of our regular gatherings. Each group has it's own structure and goals.

Girls Bible Study

Fridays 5:30pm-7:00pm
(includes dinner)
Where: Stephanie's & Lokelani's homes
Led by Stephanie & Lokelani
We will be studying Ephesians. Girls will receive a scripture journal. This is for girls in 6th-12th grade. Starts September 4th.
