The Promise Fulfilled

Discussion Questions:

1) Was there anything from the sermon or the passage that stuck out to you?

2) Jesus ministered in the power of the Spirit rather than relying solely on His divine nature. This sets an example for us that even the Son of God operated through the Spirit's enabling power rather than His own strength. In what area of your life do you find it most difficult to rely on the Spirit's power rather than your own abilities?

3) We often evaluate ministry effectiveness by visible results, eloquent words, or polished presentations. Paul reminds us that his ministry wasn't with "wise and persuasive words but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power," showing that submission to the Spirit matters more than our talents. How has God used you in ways that clearly couldn't have been accomplished through your natural abilities alone?

4) Jesus faithfully attended synagogue as His custom, putting Himself in the place where God's people gathered. Our presence in community creates opportunities for the Spirit to work through us that simply wouldn't exist if we isolated ourselves. What spiritual practices or rhythms help you remain consistently engaged with the community of believers?

5) Our natural tendency in church gatherings is to ask, "What can I get out of this?" rather than, "How can I be used?" This shift from consumer to contributor happens most naturally when we're already satisfied in Christ's work. What practical difference does it make in your relationships when you approach them from a place of spiritual fullness rather than spiritual hunger?
