The Breath of God

Discussion Questions:

1) Was there anything from the sermon or the passage that stuck out to you?

2) The Bible describes our natural spiritual condition as having a "heart of stone." This imagery suggests something that cannot feel, grow, or respond to God properly. In what areas of your life do you still notice resistance to God's leading or difficulty feeling connection with Him?

3) We often think that if we behave well enough, God will be pleased with us and transform our hearts. However, Scripture teaches that transformation works in the opposite direction: God first changes our hearts, which then leads to changed behavior. How has your motivation for following God's ways changed throughout your life?

4) When the Holy Spirit fills someone, Scripture indicates they may become a voice for God's truth. Speaking God's message isn't limited to predicting the future but includes bringing His perspective into current situations with both truth and love. When have you felt prompted to speak truth to someone, and how did you discern if it was truly from God?

5) Following the Spirit often leads us into challenging situations rather than away from them. Like trained professionals such as doctors or firefighters, we might be specifically equipped for difficult circumstances. What difficult situation in your life right now might actually be a deployment opportunity where God wants to use you as light in darkness?
